Access Log Manager
What's the purpose of the Access Log Manager? What type of information will it provide?
An access log is a comprehensive list of all the files that were accessed by the visitors of a given Internet site. Each and every file that was requested in some way will be listed, so if you have only one webpage with 3 embedded pictures, one video and one embedded text file, as an illustration, the access log shall contain a total of six entries - one for any of the six files that were accessed when the site visitor opened the page. A log typically contains the file name and path, the date, plus the visitor’s OS, web browser and IP address. In some cases you could also find the referrer Internet sites that sent the visitors to your website. The information that an access log file features is in human-readable plain text format. It could be processed by special software on a laptop or computer and used to write reports on the overall performance of an Internet site, besides the web stats that your hosting server may have created.

Access Log Manager in Cloud Hosting
Our custom Hepsia Control Panel includes a section focused on various logs and the access logs are among them. As soon as you sign in to your
cloud hosting account and take a look at this section, you shall find a list of all the
domain names and subdomains which you have. All it takes to permit the generation of access logs is to click on a button that will be available next to every single domain/subdomain. When the option is active, you'll see a download link together with the file size so far, so you shall be able to save the file to your personal computer and look at it or process it with some app. Enabling or disabling the logs takes effect right away, so if you no longer need one, you may stop it with simply a click from the very same section of the Control Panel. You'll still have the ability to access the already created content by clicking on the Download link.

Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Hosting
If you have a
semi-dedicated server account with us, it shall not take more than several clicks to permit the generation of access logs by our system if you need them. The feature could be enabled via the Hepsia hosting Control Panel and this could be done individually for each domain name or subdomain that you have inside your account. Once you log in and visit the Access/Error Logs section of the CP, you'll see a list of all the hostnames with an On/Off button next to all of them. A single click will trigger the log generation and a second one will disable it, so you can control this feature with great simplicity. A Download link within the same section will allow you to save the created content as a text file, that you can then use on your PC. Even when the logs are deactivated, you'll still be able to download the data that's been previously generated.
